"Lloyd is an outstanding photographer. His photos are natural and captured moments we will treasure for ever. He took the time to get to know us as a couple and listened to what we wanted from our photos. This thoughtful process resulted in unbelievable photos. They tell an emotional journey of the day. They are absolutely breathtaking! We honestly can not thank you enough. The photos are one of the most precious things we own. Thank you."
Jade and Jamie
What a way for me to finish my photography season with the Wedding of Jamie and Jade - in a fish tank! But more about that later... I had had the privilege of shooting this lovely couple once before, at their engagement shoot at the beautiful Langstone Harbour a few month prior to the wedding day, and I was excited to be back for their Emsworth wedding in November to see them say 'I do!'.
I have to say, the engagement shoot we did back in April was a lot of fun. Jade was a total natural in front of the camera, laughing and giggling at Jamie, who was slightly less comfortable in the spotlight. But I soon got to learn more about the couple, and how much the area meant to them - they met when they both worked at the Ship Inn, so it was fitting that the wedding day was set just down the road at the wedding venue the Brookfield Hotel, just a stones throw from the harbour.
The day started in the honeymoon suite of the hotel, where Jade was getting ready with her family and bridesmaids. It was fun, hectic and emotional in there! It's always great to shoot such a tight-knit group of people on such an important day and I hope you agree that the photos nicely capture the vibe in the room!
We then had to dash in a convoy of vintage VW camper vans to the Ceremony location, the beautiful and quaint St Johns Church near Rowlands Castle, where the groom was patiently waiting for the bridal party. After the Hampshire wedding ceremony, we headed back to Emsworth, where we made the most of those beautiful camper vans, including them in lots of the set shot, and then it was time to get the party started!
In the evening, I tested out some new lighting skills acquired over workshops I had taken throughout 2017 and I have to say, I am delighted with the shots! One of which makes the most of the lovely fish tank in the Brookfield Hotel wedding venue! It's a fun shot, which Jade and Jamie were happy for me to experiment with and I think you'll agree, it certainly makes for an incredibly unique wedding photo! The weather was unfortunately overcast during the day and as with all winter weddings, the sun had set much earlier, so it's a wonderful asset to have in my arsenal of skills - I'm confident that I can offer my clients dynamic and compelling portraits in ANY environment. I hope you like the shots as much as I do and I am so pleased that Jade and Jamie got to have such interesting shots as a result!
Overall, this wedding was a lot of fun. Jade and Jamie are an incredibly fun and easy-going couple, and it was a pleasure to record, not just their engagement shoot, but also, their Hampshire wedding day for them! It was the perfect way to wrap up 2017 - if half the weddings I have in 2018 are as good as this one, I'll be a happy Hampshire wedding photographer!
