Burley Manor Wedding Photography

Burley Manor Wedding - You’ve got to love a summer Wedding in the New Forest, and the wedding of Kelly and Scott did not disappoint, with gorgeous summer sunshine beaming down throughout the day, set in the grounds of the stunning Burley Manor. The great weather was accompanied by this beautiful wedding venue, as both the bride and groom spent the day enjoying everything that the New Forest could offer them on their special day.

Wedding Preparations at Burley Manor

As Kelly and the bridal party prepared at her and Scott’s home, Scott and his groomsmen had spent the night at Burley Manor in one of the luxurious suites. Meanwhile, Kelly’s bridesmaids made sure to capture every aspect of the day with their action-cam at the ready! Queue the tears from everyone as Kelly revealed her beautiful wedding dress, including an amazing pair of Christian Louboutin Shoes, to everyone including the neighbours who watched on as she made her way to the vintage Rolls Royce car, her transportation to Burley Manor for the wedding.

Wedding Ceremony at Burley Manors Rustic Barn

An emotional Kelly had to re-do a bit of her wedding make-up upon arrival at Burley Manor, but she still looked impeccable as she made her way down the aisle. Scott and his young son, who was also his best man, both looked absolutely delighted when Kelly entered the beautiful barn with its beamed and vaulted ceiling at Burley Manor. From that point onwards, the smiles didn’t stop all day!

Wedding Breakfast and Speeches at Burley Manor

The beginning of the wedding breakfast the wedding speeches were quickly addressed which moved many of the guests to tears. The grooms speech and the father of the bride speech being guilty of causing their fair share of tears. But the best man speeches were a highlight of the day, which included a Mr. Potato Head prop as a comparison to Scott and Dad-dance-move impressions that nearly bought the house down!

Wedding Party at Burley Manor

We then stole Kelly and Scott away to walk around the grounds of Burley Manor, making the most of the gorgeous evening light, the opulence of the manor and beauty of the natural surroundings of the New Forest. The stunning views over the neighbouring deer park were not to be missed. The wedding party was a treasure trove of fun and games as the guests enjoyed a casino and photo booth in the marquee and the fun really got started when everyone descended onto the dance floor after the first dance.

Visiting Burley Manor

Burley Manor is a unique hotel set in the village of Burley in the New Forest. This is the place you want to go if you enjoy stunning food, great service and a grown-ups only stay! Just as my wife and I found out when we had a weekend away here not too long ago! This was the first weekend away since having the kids so the hotel had to be good. We stayed in one of the luxurious garden suites, this was positioned perfectly to make the most of the views over the neighbouring deer park and they were quite simply exceptional. We made the most of the garden facing views also and enjoyed being able to just read a few paragraphs of a book without interruption. If you are a wedding guest you should book these rooms early to avoid disappointment!

Inspirational Food Experience at Burley Manor

To food at Kelly and Scott’s wedding was outstanding and one of the reasons I wanted to come back as a guest. At Burley Manor, the food is the main event, inspired by the Mediterranean from the food to the atmosphere it has it all. The ingredients are sourced locally from the New Forest and the British Isles, this ensures quality and freshness. This results in rustic, vibrant dishes worthy of any Mediterranean platter. If you have chance you must visit the Butler’s Pantry at Burley Manor, this is a unique, tailored dining experience. Where you have a private chef who cooks in front of you. You can watch your food being cooked in the wood fired oven whilst chatting over a glass of champagne.

Temple Spa Wellbeing Centre

We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the wellbeing centre at Burley Manor, with promises to cleanse, rebalance and restore, it sounded like just what we needed. After an hour in the Temple Spa we certainly left feeling refreshed. After a wedding night partying at Burley Manor, what better way to recover then by choosing from the range of luxurious and indulgent treatments.

Visiting Burley

Burley Manor has everything you could possibly want from and wedding venue and hotel but if you did feel the need to stretch those legs and venture out of the ground there is plenty to do and see.

A unique New Forest experience

Burley Village has been made famous by its history of witchcraft and you can see this in some of the local shops. It wouldn’t being the New Forest without having a fudge shop or two, we got pulled in by the tempting free samples left outside and then left with about £20 worth of fudge! Fully laden with fudge we set of to explore Burley village, Burley Manor hotel reception had given us a map of local walks to do. We found one that was well within our limits and would also build an appetite for the restaurant visit later.

Walking through Burley

Walking around Burley Village you will encounter wild donkeys, ponies and cattle as they roamed freely throughout. The New Forest is also home to five different type of deer; red, roe, fallow, sika and muntjac, some of which can be spotted at Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary or at the New Forest Deer Safari, based near Burley.

People have lived in the Burley area since prehistoric times. Over twenty Bronze Age burial mounds are found near to the village and on the edge of Burley, at Castle Hill, is the site of an Iron Age hillfort.

Photography in Burley

Everyone from professional photographer to a keen amateur photographer and all the way through to a camera phone enthusiast will be spoilt for things to photograph in Burley. When you decide to take your camera out of your bag for the first time you won’t want to put it back. The wild donkeys, ponies and cattle that roam the streets will give you plenty to photograph but be quick as they will be gone into the New Forest undergrowth before you know it. A little professional photography tip is to use a fast shutter speed to capture moving subjects, this will ensure that your New Forest ponies photo is crisp! Of course you may want to slow down and use a tripod to capture those awe inspiring sunsets over the moors. If you want to be a little more adventurous with your photography you could hire one of the many bikes and cycle through the open heathland to explore the flat picturesque cycle routes.
