Lysses Hotel Wedding
For anyone who was there to witness the unposed wedding photos of Alison and Brian at The Lysses House Hotel, Fareham, they would have to agree that those two were just meant to be together. The day started with the bride and her bridesmaids, including her two daughters, preparing for the day in a suite at the hotel. Laughs and giggles were a-plenty as the girls got ready and the fun didn't stop when they jumped onto their bus! On the way to the Portsmouth Registry office, where the Hampshire wedding ceremony was to take place, the groom's car managed to overtake the girl's in the Saturday morning traffic, with Alison ducking for cover away from the windows in order to prevent the groom from seeing her before the nuptials! With the crisis averted (Brian didn't even realise he'd overtaken her!), there were more than just a few tears shed by the groom when he finally saw Alison walking down the aisle. After an emotional and natural wedding ceremony, the wedding party retreated to the beautiful gardens behind the registry office where, much to the delight of the guests, my assistant Megan sat on my shoulders in order to get the perfect shot of the whole group! It was back to the Lysses House Hotel for the wedding breakfast, where the speeches took place, including a wonderful and non-traditional 'thank you' from the bride to all of her guests. Downstairs, the dance floor was ready and waiting for the party to get started, where the bride and groom had a loving first dance and were then joined by all the guests. During my time with Alison and Brian, and as you'll see in the photos, they exuded happiness throughout the day, making it an absolute pleasure to be their documentary wedding photographer.
