Petersfield Wedding

What can I say about Lauren and Tony – Well to put it simply, the two of them were Plane Crazy! That’s right, they have a total love and obsession with all things Aviation! With Tony being a Pilot and Lauren being an Air Hostess, it was the perfect theme for their big day, at the gorgeous Tithe Barn, Hampshire. It was an incredible experience for me to document this winter wedding – Not only was this my first candle-lit wedding (check out the wonderful ambiance this creates!), but the love and emotion pouring from this wonderful couple made the whole day feel so special.

The day began with Lauren at her home preparing with the bridal party and Tony at the local Village Inn, getting ready with family and the groomsmen. There was plenty of time to get in a game of darts with his Dad, as Lauren was opening a special gift hand-made by Tony. She reciprocated the gesture by gifting him some fetching propeller cufflinks (the perfect way to start the aviation theme for the day!). Queue tears from both parties, and we learned pretty quickly that Tony was a man very much in touch with his emotional side, and good on him!

As Tony and his friends and family made their way to the Tithe Barn in Petersfield, Lauren was having a blast getting ready with team-bride! I had fun hanging out with them in the morning and seeing how close Lauren was to her best friend and family was moving – I knew this one was gonna be a tear-jerker!

As she ‘jet off’ in her Vintage VW camper van, Tony and the guests were eagerly anticipating her arrival. When Lauren finally ‘flew’ down the candle-lit aisle, Tony couldn’t help but be moved by his gorgeous bride!

It’s great to come back to Tithe Barn, as the venue makes an incredible backdrop for a wonderful couple like Lauren and Tony on their wedding day. The Tithe Barn is a unique wedding and reception venue, set in the heart of the South Downs National Park.Who doesn’t love a barn wedding, but I’ve got to say that the venue was exquisite; just look at the shots of the two of them during the ceremony, with the arching ceiling, wooden beams and the white brickwork lit by gorgeous candlelight! People gasp when they enter this beautiful Hampshire wedding venue right on the Sussex border because its six huge stone arches, half-hammer beams and flagstone floor make it strikingly grand. Situated between Petersfield and South Harting within easy reach of London, Guildford, Portsmouth, Winchester and Chichester.

Once the two of them had said ‘I do!’ we whisked off to walk around the beautiful grounds of this Petersfield barn, allowing me to get some portrait shots of the couple as the sun was setting – The winter wedding allowed me to get some lovely bokeh shots of the fairy lights as the couple snuggled up and enjoyed one another’s company as Man-and-Wife!

After the meal, everyone enjoyed the memorable speeches; The father-of-the-bride didn’t leave a dry eye in the room with his emotional speech, but later, Lauren’s Brother made the Mother-of-the-bride do a Jager bomb (Let’s just say I don’t think it’s something she does very often!) whilst the Maid-of-Honour performed a bespoke rap for the couple! The Best Man got the party off to a ‘flying’ start by mocking Tony for his Pilot-isms and had every woman in the room on their feet as part of, what can only be classed as, a stand-up comedy routine!

After the two of them ran down their ‘runway’ of sparklers (again, who doesn’t love sparkler photos during the dark winter months?) the two transitioned into the cake-cutting and their first dance and proceeded to party the night away!

So, do I have ‘anything to declare’? Yes! Thank you to Lauren and Tony for letting me be a part of their big day! I hope the photos are the icing-on-the-wedding-cake as they ‘Take-Off’ into married life!
